With an abundance of choices and price ranges, choosing the right tire for the job can be a difficult and daunting task. I have run two sets of wheels/tires in the past to have a no compromise summer and winter setup but logistically that’s not an option for me at the moment. So I set off to find the perfect do it all tire.
I had chosen the Michelin Premier A/S for my B6 wagon and I was very satisfied with them. The tread did develop some road noise over time but I’ll forgive them due to the fact that I likely caused it by running them low pressure.
This time around I wanted to get a tire that performs a bit better on backroads but is still capable in rain, snow and ice. I normally spend time on tire rack researching before making a decision but this time I chose to go to Costco first in the interest of time.
Thankfully they had a solid option in stock: the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ .

In a matter of a few weeks I’ve put over 1,200 miles on them and am very satisfied thus far.
They are quiet, comfortable and sticky as can be. I have yet to test them in rain/snow/ice but I’ll report back with longer term feedback once I put them through more terrain.
Cheers!
